I am a lifelong Connecticut resident, having grown up in Madison. My husband and I have two great kids, Becky, 17, a high school senior, and Lily, 5, a kindergartner. We also have 3 dogs. Being the mom of a teenager and a kindergartner as well as a full time teacher certainly keeps me busy! I’m a huge baseball and football fan. Most nights I’m prepping for class in front of a Red Sox game or planning lessons in front of a Pats game on the weekends (one of my dogs is named Brady), and you may see me in the hallway carrying my Jonathan Papelbon lunchbox! Spending a day at Fenway Park is just about one of my favorite things in life!
I have been teaching for about 18 years with some time off to adopt and raise my children. Prior to my teaching position here, I taught kindergarten and reading at Stepney Elementary School in Monroe, and prior to that in a full day dual language kindergarten program (Spanish and English immersion) for 6 years in a school in the Church Street South projects in New Haven. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s degree in Advanced Classroom Teaching with a concentration in early literacy.
I love to travel and have been to most states in the US (I drove across country one summer) and traveled abroad to the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe and Southeast Asia (my children are from the Philippines and Thailand respectively). I also absolutely love Thai food, musical theater, yoga, and spending time with my family.
I look forward to learning and growing with your children this year!
